After a long seven weeks of driving with a left-dented vehicle and a slouched driver's seat, B has finally come to terms and decided to let the ax slide. The insurance company and B finally connected and today, our trusted '94 handsome Ranger who has helped carry our loads of first furnitures from our humble abode in the 40Ave Queen's Park area to the place where are currently living in at Oak Hill Estates, is going to be refurbished by (hopefully) a competent body shop - so we bid our adieu.
B procured Ranger from NWT. Although this truck was 2nd hand - it runs like a well-greased machine. It hauled several furnitures from the IKEA bedroom stuff we have on both rooms, to the entertainment centre we got to Auntie's furnitures to even our first couch from our lovely Linda.
Prior to the February accident, B has been getting a lot of offers from both his dad, Kurt, and even some of his DeVry classmates. They gave several offers - up to about 6500; but everytime we were thinking about it (the money can definitely pay a big part of our wedding!) and no matter how tempting the offer was - we just can't get ourselves to do it. Ranger, in it's class and model - is still very attractive - no dents, no rust, and for the life of it - was at less than 200K kms.
But, it did point to this end. The offers B got left and right was downright foreboding. And in Feb of this year, we just knew that our beloved Ranger has to go.
My sisters who have ridden our pogi truck were saddened. It's a very useful vehicle and a 4x4 to boot. Even little Joaquin will miss it because his eyes just literally light up with how TALL he feels being mounted on his booster seat and riding in a big boys toy.
To our trusted company - thru good times and bad, thanks for the great ride.
