4th day of our mini-moon (September 20, 2006)

Wednesday. Ahhhh - this could have been our major activity in Toronto because we were both looking forward to watching the Blue Man Group live at the Panasonic Theatre! But, dang performances were moved to the weekends and there's no way we can change our activities now because we are also very excited to see Niagara on the Lake too! So, we made this our shopping day in TO - and we started with Yorkville. ;)

The northern part of Toronto is very upscale. If the south has all the districts you can find from financial to fashion to entertainment - I'd say the north (Yorkville) is all class, elegance and style. Bloor ST is teeming with all your high-end shops (Holt Renfrew, Tiffany's, Prada, Coach, Gucci, Lacoste, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, etc) to yes, more Starbuck's coffee shop! When we visited To, the International Film Festival just winded so there's not much in term of celebrity sightseeing - but everyone in that area seems to know where the place to be seen was. (We're not much into that - we're older lol - so we just went where we know we wanted to go.) Oh, if the NY Yankees are considered 'celebrities' in your eyes - then I guess we've seen some! ;) They were coming out from Parc Hyatt that day after screaming fans were lined up like bees in their waiting coach.

B got my other wedding present in Yorkville. A 3-bangle with T&Co lock at Tiffany's. Yay!!! :) As expected, people from T&Co are just amazing! :) Very nice people - I guess because it's expected - but it's still good to be treated 'well'. We hit Williams-Sonoma and bought Rachael Ray's Express Meal cookbook and proceeded to next-door Pottery Barn but went straight to their Kids' Section. (Calgary doesn't have the Kids' section so we got some stuff for Joaquin and Gianna). :)

We hopped on the tourist tram to see the rest of the south that we weren't able to explore by foot yet. We finally had a glimpse of their Chinatown (very crowded and only the expert drivers can work their way in!!!) and we initially wanted to stop by St. Lawrence's market but we opted out because we were getting hungry. We were deciding on going to the harbourfront for lunch but it was timing that the guy who does the tourist-talk said that the best seafood is NOT found in the harbour area! lol. We passed that then and chose Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant at 99 Blue Jay's Way. As usual, people were gracious to us - after learning that we're visitors from Calgary and we're honeymooning! ;)

We walked some more and checked out the Entertainment and Fashion District. Lots of indie stores but nothing much caught my fancy. So, we went to the trusty Eaton Centre instead for the rest of the shopping we needed.

Dinner was at Hard Rock Cafe. We took in the rest of Downtown Yonge and organized our stuff. We are heading to Niagara on the Lake tomorrow! ;)
