I'm an aunt once again!!! :) Gianna Mei was born May 20, 2006 at 11:40am at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta (Unit 51). She weighed in at 6 lbs 85 ounces - huge baby!!!!!!
Little Gianna was 5 days earlier than anticipated and was taken out of forcep because my sister (Gianna's mom) has been pushing for 3 consecutive hours and to no avail. Apparently, she was stuck on the pelvis and the ob-gynes had to intervene because of that. When Gianna got out of her mom's womb, she had two loops of umbilical cord on her neck - prompting the doctors to quickly untangle her before the cords were snipped. Gianna's dad (Gerald) wasn't able to do the customary and honorary cord-cutting because of this but we're just too thrilled that she came out okay.
Mom and tot are doing great - and boy, Gianna is a carbon copy of her dad!!!!!!! Hmm... I guess that's how Chinese blood is eh? It's thicker than that of the Filipinos! hahahaha
To Gerald and Josephine, congratulations and to Gianna, our newest baby to the clan, welcome!!! :)
