Happy News.

I hope this time, the post will go thru. After a long-ish update last Saturday, blogger got wonky on me and the entries (complete with pictures even!!!) zapped! :(

So here goes...

Thursday was our nephew's 2nd birthday. Joaquin was so ecstatic with all his loot and everytime he opens his gift/s - he'd squeal - WOWWWWWW!!!! :) He'd go thru the whole stuff - busily tearing all the wrapping, open the box then squeal again, WOW!!!!!!!!! (doesn't matter if it's just a pair of shorts or shirts, or toys)... a gift is a gift... there's wisdom for you - from a 2-year old perspective. :) Oh, then, his being 2 kicks in, short attention span for sure - after doodling with his stuff, he moves on to his tried and tested toys - Uncle B - playing wrestling on the floor! ;)

Friday was our meeting with Fr. A. Long story short, he's ok (I guess he's forced to good) with the stuff we want. He did look a bit flustered because there were more exceptions done for us (by Fr. K) than the usual wedding Mass. I guess the bottomline is, we're having the Mass we like - and we're just hoping that he'd be warm-er than he was during the meeting - for the actual Wedding Day.

Saturday was busy, busy, busy. I finished doing all the out-of-town bags complete with their Door Hangers. Then, off we went to my dental appointment. After an hour, we were off to Glenmore Park for Joaquin's celebration. It was fun - with B getting all sore because he has been doing (competitive) badminton with Gerald. hahaha "Competitive" because both guys were serious in their 'play'. I prepped the ribs after we got home for my b-day on Tuesday!

Yesterday, we heard Mass at St. Joe's and Fr. A was officiating. He was ok - his sermon was nice (as always) but he lacks 'connection' - the kind that Fr. K has with the congregation. Hmmm... I hope he'd loosen up a bit so people can warm up to him too. We went to Canadian Tire prior to the Mass to buy the bbq burner and to Superstore for most of our meat, veggie and fruit needs.

Last weekend too, we booked our Niagara on the Lake honeymoon. Yeah!!!!!!! We are going to Harbour House Hotel and we're staying there for 2 nights. We would have wanted the full 3 nights but the Wine Festival was in full swing and organizers got Friday night to Sunday all booked. :( So, we have our final leg of honeymoon to Niagara Falls. Not exactly how we wanted it - but I guess one night of full NF is not so bad afterall. If only we can get a good deal for a 1-night stay that will give us a Maid in the Mist and Journey to the Fall stuff going for us.

In NOTL, we're going to see High Society, a musicale from the acclaimed Shaw Festival. In the website, it reads: "High Society is an adaptation of the 1938 classic romantic comedy, The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry. The story centres on the beautiful and headstrong socialite Tracy Lord, who is about to embark upon a second marriage. In Arthur Kopit's 1998 version, the wite and humour of the original script are combined with the dazzling usic and unforgettable lyrics of Cole Porter to create this world of wealth, decadence, sass and style, while also revealing the class differences that abound in the household alone."

We wanted to see a musicale because B has not seen one yet. We were initially wanting to see LOTR but it's not running anymore by the time we go to Toronto. So, this is the best we can get so far. :) I guess next year, we should plan for NY for an authentic Broadway musicale - that way, B can truly appreciate art as it is! ;)

Here in Canada, it's always a delight to watch plays because normally (on the slow-er days), there is an added activity - sometimes, a Q&A, a Reading, a Musical Reading, etc. As we are going to a weekend evening performance, I don't think we can have this... but, hey - we're watching a musicale that has a 13-piece orchestra from Argentina. THAT should be exciting! :)
