If you were part of the Girls Scout movement, you would have known this song...
"It is better to light, just one little candle than to stumble in the dark... better than that you light just one little candle - all you need's a tiny spark... if we all say a prayer that the world will be free... a wonderful dawn of a new day we'll see... so if everyone lits just one little candle, what a bright world this would be..."
How truly right! The Earth Hour is a great example how we can make a difference and that one tiny spark from your one little candle is all it needs to cast a new glow on our earthly existence... It is comforting to know that there are people who care about Mother Earth and even if it means just one full hour to reflect, and to savour the beauty of a little spark in the dark - I think the impact is tremendous if we do this every month.
It's good to be out of commission for a little while with a purpose... it's good to be shut from the light for the time being because afterwards, one can just truly appreciate the beauty of light.
I just did my part for the Earth Hour - how about you?
