The 5 Best Nights of My Life.

One articulate and warmhearted soul-sister got me tagged. ;) So, now, I have to rack my brain with just 5 best nights!!! ;) Here goes...

May 11, 1988. Okay - that's wayyyyyyy too long ago.. hahaha But, this is one of the many but I'm thinking the very first (summer) sleepover where we were introduced to Gin & Tonic. We were in our senior year in HS and Iya (whose birthday is the 12th) made sure that some of us 'demure' (ackk!!! hahaha) girls would have to learn to 'drink' the real stuff. As we all went to the 'convent' school, you would know how it is to 'break' the rules, right? :) We had a blast as there were about 12 of us girls trying to down a 'long neck'. hahahaha We showered in the rain and had Charades with the Good Peanuts (our gay friends from the Boys Department of our HS) while some of us learned how to cook Adobo for the first time! I think that's where we had real drama unfold too as some of our close friends started to confide some of their deep secrets and aspirations.

One Summer Night in 1999. I don't exactly remember when but we just know it's summer as the trek to the Perez's farm was delightful - it was one of those days where it was quite rainy in Manila but sun shiny (not hot) in the rural town. This night with my MTED friends was truly awesome because we actually bonded with each other (considering we are coming from different batches) and we had time to reconnect as many of us then were being fielded to the different departments/locations within the Company. We swam in the real river, ate fresh food from the farm, laughed, cried, laughed some more and very importantly, drunk some more! This time, my drink of choice was the Vodka Currant. lol I cherished this time because we grew particularly close to each other - and some of our 'misunderstood' friends poured out their souls to us and we never looked back. That time too, since we were not in the confines of the big Ayala territory (we love working there but we equally loved the times when we're not) people truly shared their dreams - and that's where one of my close friends (who's now quite a celebrity back home as a broadcaster) somehow alluded to the fact that one day, he'll make it big - and boy, did he ever become one! :)

Halloween 2001. This was a small reunion of sorts with my HS friends again. J came back from Florida, A came back from Boston, I came back from Canada. As it's very rare to have all of us in town (with many of us living somewhere else already), we decided to have a group photo in the (almost) nude! hahaha (That's what happens when you have friends who are in the ad agencies - they have all these awesome ideas! lol) It was fun and tiring as the photo shoot took maybe 2 hours - what with lots of divas in the group (we have gay friends, remember? lol) who all wanted to be Mariah-esque or Halle Berry-esque in the posing! lol After the shoot, we headed down to our special place in Malate to do the bar/dance hopping and to catch up. It was a year of heartbreaks for many of us (I think moi included then) so the whole day activity - capped with a wind-down Cafe Adriatico thing was one cherished night for all of us. Back then, we already knew BFF - best friendS forever! :)

November 1, 2003. The night I got engaged to my now hubby! ;) It was a very snowy day that turned out to be the warmest, glowing, memorable day of my life! We attended Jessica's launching concert then decided to go on a quick dinner at OSF in Eau Claire. That dinner didn't turn out quick as he proposed!!! ;)

September 16, 2006. Ahhhhhh - how can you not consider the day you got married as your best night ever?!?!?! :) It was just the culmination of all the hardwork, the headaches and the sleepless nights and of course, great outpouring of love. It was an affair that was attended by 80 dearly beloved people who took time to be with us. I love the fact that we were able to mingle with them on a longer time, had great and overflowing food (everyone loved the fact that they can choose what they can eat) and everyone danced the night away! :) And the funny thing is, I think the hubby was the most gratified that we are married as he won't have to stress on the envelopes and the stamps! lol

So, there you go... if you have not done this and would like to share, please - let's read (see) what your 5 best nights are! :)
